Strengthening Toyota’s diverse talent pipeline starts with strengthening the talent being developed within our communities — our youth. Our Business Partnering Groups (BPGs) play a significant role in building relationships and alliances with local schools and educational programs across North America. Through these partnerships, BPGs volunteer, mentor, and tutor, helping make a powerful difference in young lives and also helping cultivate talent readiness for Toyota’s future.
One such alliance is through the African American Collaborative (AAC), a BPG located at headquarters in Plano, Texas. Together with Dallas Independent School District, Toyota Financial Services, and TutorMate, an Innovations for Learning online volunteer reading support and tutoring program, AAC is making a difference.
Starting in 2017 and led by the AAC, Toyota team members began tutoring underserved students from J.N. Ervin, a school in South Dallas with a “Needs Improvement” rating in reading.
