Toyota’s Response to COVID-19 and Social Justice
More than ever, our social fabric is being stretched to the limit. The “new normal” spawned by a global health pandemic and nationwide struggle for social justice and equality is anything but “business as usual.” And, although much work remains, Team Toyota has been stepping up to help turn the tide — working with partners, suppliers, dealers and other organizations to create innovative and equitable solutions.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Toyota teamed up with nonprofit and private sector allies to provide funding, expertise and in-kind donations for at-risk and disproportionately impacted communities.
Driven by its guiding principle of Respect for People and a “we’re all in this together” attitude, Toyota has made a difference in the lives of Americans impacted financially, physically, and psychologically by the pandemic.
Similarly, we continue to leverage our voice and resources to support the African American community and other groups negatively impacted by social injustice and disparity. We are all one community, and when any member hurts or is under assault, we lend our support. It’s The Toyota Way.
Our team members expect action. They expect tangible steps to be taken to show our preexisting commitment to social justice.”
