Three Toyota team members received awards for excellence in manufacturing at the STEP Ahead Awards, part of the larger STEP Ahead initiative of The Manufacturing Institute, launched to examine and promote the role of women in the manufacturing industry through recognition, research and leadership. The award winners were:
- Renee Robertson, General Manager Production Control, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky
- Shamaya Morris, Production Engineering Specialist, Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia
- Marie Kendrick, Powertrain Engineer, Toyota’s Bodine Aluminum, Troy, Missouri (Posthumous)
Equally impressive, Kanesha Jackson, Production Group Leader — Assembly at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi is a fundamental skills trainer in the assembly area and is one of the first people that new team members see going to the production line. An eight-year veteran at the plant, she was promoted to team leader within three months of starting with Toyota because of the talent and perspective she brings to the job.
