IT WAS JUST AN IDEA

Innovative automotive advancements require brilliant minds — with broad perspectives — to cultivate these future technologies.

It was this seed that planted Dreaming Out Loud, a Lexus-sponsored STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) event, in partnership with Atlanta Public Schools.

“It was just an idea — a passion project — I’m proud to work for a company that stands behind what they believe in. ‘Start Your Impossible’ isn’t just a catch phrase — they help us achieve our impossible,” says Aswad Mack, Toyota Production System Support Center Consultant. A board member of the Atlanta-based Building Legacy Foundation, Aswad introduced the idea to his mentor at the time, April Mason, now a General Manager at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama. He wanted to create an event that would press upon future leaders the value of a STEAM education.

“Her eyes opened wide, and she immediately started walking me around, introducing me to people who would later become strong allies for Dreaming Out Loud.”
